If you have your own router that you would like to use with Altice One, it is possible as long as your router is compatible. To check compatibility, visit the Altice One support site and enter your router’s make and model number. If your router is listed as compatible, follow the instructions on the support site to set it up.

If your router is not compatible, you can still use Altice One’s built-in modem and router.

  • Connect the coaxial cable from the wall to the “IN” port on the back of your router
  • Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the numbered ports on the back of your router to the Ethernet port on your computer
  • Open a web browser and type in 192
  • 1 into the address bar then hit enter/return on your keyboard
  • This will open up the login page for your router’s settings page
  • Enter “admin” for both the username and password fields then click “Login”
  • If you see a message that says “Update Firmware”, go ahead and update your firmware by clicking “Yes”
  • Once it’s done, click “Continue”
  • If you don’t see a message about updating firmware, skip this step and continue to step 6 below
  • Click on “Settings” near the top-right of the page, then scroll down and click on “Internet”
  • Near the top of that page, under where it says “Cable Settings”, change the dropdown menu next to “Router Mode” to say “-Bridge Mode-” instead and click apply at the bottom of that section (your changes won’t save until you do this!)
  • Now, still under where it says Cable Settings”, find where it has a field labeled as either VPI or VCI – fill in 0 for both fields (if it just has one field, enter 0 there too), set encapsulation to LLC/SNAP BRIDGING mode (also sometimes called bridged mode), make sure PPP over Ethernet is unchecked/disabled, then click apply again at bottom of section like before
  • That’s it! Your computer should now be able to connect to Altice One with no problem using your own personal router!
